Susan, the proud owner of Nerm, has worn many hats in her life. Born in Illinois and raised in Maryland, Susan completed her undergraduate education at Skidmore College in New York. Susan moved to Massachusetts shortly thereafter to pursue employment in research and follow her passion in art. She moved to Westborough in 1981. Westborough has been her only home here in Massachusetts. This is where her children, Cynthia and Diana were born, went to school and now return home to in their adult lives.
When Susan had her first daughter, Cynthia, she decided to stay home and pursue her art career with some moderate success. Susan's work has been and continues to be displayed in regional art shows. She was also an active participant in two Worcester art galleries in the 80's.
After Susan's second daughter, Diana, was born she elected to return to school and was accepted to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine (TUSVM). There she studied and continued to do all the other things that a young mother does; drive to violin lessions, go to school functions and enjoy her tenacious girls. Susan started her veterinary career after her graduation from TUSVM in 1993. Her first professional experience was at Shrewsbury Animal Hospital. There she continued to hone her skills by practicing with the staff veterinarians there. By 1995 Susan was ready to start out on her own. She opened Associates Animal Hospital two blocks from her home. This was a fulfillment of a dream. Susan was now able to pursue her professional life without giving up being a mom to her daughters Cynthia and Diana. Both children worked and helped in the animal hospital until they went to college. Lots of other Westborough children have passed through Associates Animal Hospital on their way to bigger things.
Susan now practices with Dr. Paul Rosiello, her long time friend. She travels with Travel Nerm. The real Nerm hates planes, so when Susan wants to see some place new she takes Travel Nerm for company. Check out Travel Nerm's Adventures to see where Susan has been lately.
